Monty L. Hale 1959 – 2017
Monty L. Hale, 58, of Zanesville, died 8:04 AM, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Genesis Hospital Emergency Department following a sudden illness. He was born Thursday, January 1, 1959, in Zanesville, the son of Raymond Hale and Donna (Smith) Hale of Zanesville and married Katherine D. “Kathy” (Ferrell) Hale on Saturday, November 11, 1989.
Monty retired as a Forman with Kokosing Construction following over 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Monty loved teaching and mentoring his son in auto mechanics, was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed playing the lottery.
In addition to his parents, Monty is survived by his wife: Kathy Hale of the home; seven children: Monty Lee Hale, Jr. of Chillicothe, Melinda (Katie) Umstott of Zanesville, Aaron Wiley of Zanesville, Kara (Chris) Ruder of Columbus, Matthew Wiley of Zanesville, Shawn (Ashley) Hale of Zanesville and Marrisa (Steven) Chesnik of Zanesville; numerous grandchildren; four siblings: Lucrecia (Mike) Hager of Columbus, Stephen (Cheryl) Hale of Columbus, Debbie (Mike) Williams of Arizona and Michelle (Chris) Cole of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
Monty was preceded in death by two brothers: Terry & Kent Hale and a cousin: Mark Hale.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev.
