Entries now being accepted for Festival of Trees

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A Zanesville holiday tradition is celebrating its 25th anniversary and entries are now being accepted for the event.
Every year the Chamber of Commerce hosts a Festival of Trees. Local businesses and organizations donate decorated trees or wreaths to be auctioned off. This year the Chamber of Commerce is inviting people to celebrate an important milestone with them.
“So the Chamber of Commerce is very happy to announce this is our 25th anniversary of the Festival of Trees auction,” said Chamber of Commerce President Dana Matz. “Festival of Trees auction takes place here at the Welcome Center, will be live on the radio, WHIZ.”
The Commerce is now accepting entries for the Festival. The Commerce plans on decorating their entries with silver to signify 25 years and invites all entrants to do the same.
“Twenty-five years…we’ll be decorating some of our entries silver for the silver anniversary of the twenty-fifth year. Outside of that, we’ll be doing what we did in the past,” said Matz. “We’ll have the room full of wonderful decorated items. And we’ll be auctioning those off.”
The trees and wreaths will go on display November 30th and will be auctioned off on December 1st. The auction will be live and bidders will be able to call in their bids. The auction is open to the public.
“The nice thing about our auction is the small business the local resident they can come in and bid. And our items go anywhere from $15 and up.”
The trees also come with incentives from the companies that donated them. You could win gift cards, event tickets, or more.
“The nice thing is the incentives that come with them range anywhere from gift cards to local businesses to tickets to sporting events. Whether it’s a college game or professional team. And there’s overnight stays at hotels. There’s overnight stays in the past that have been given away for like Hocking Hills vacations.”
