Devilette Annual Holiday Bazaar

Bazar

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Devilette Holiday Bazaar took over Secrest Auditorium today.

Every year, the Devilette Dance Team hosts the bazaar to help raise money for uniforms, props, and other things they may need. Local vendors set up their tables selling unique handmade items. Team Captain Kadijaha Ross-Hu says the team is working hard to make sure the day is a success.

“We’re selling raffle tickets to the vendors and serving them food. And helping them with anything they need throughout the day.”

The Devilette’s were started back in 1966. Since then hundreds of girls have danced through the program and participated in the annual holiday bazaar. B White, also known as Mom White to many Devilette’s, stops by the bazaar each year. White enjoys shopping the local crafts, but also seeing former members.

“Oh, I see a lot of my, not old in age, but a lot of my old girls…old Devilette’s. And I love to see all the good things and buy it.”

Lunch was also available for purchase at the bazaar. The Devilette’s say they recently bought new uniforms and the money will help offset the cost of them. Last year, the team celebrated its 50 year anniversary with a special performance by past and current members.
