Changes coming to MediGold insurance coverage

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Muskingum County Seniors will soon see a change in their health insurance coverage options and the Muskingum County Senior Center is working to make sure all seniors are informed about their options.
Enrollment is currently open for seniors to choose their plans. Ann Combs, the Executive Director at the Muskingum Senior Center, says it’s important for the seniors to look at their Medicare Part B Supplement and their Medicare Part D Supplement. She says if they want to make any changes, now is the time to do so, as a major change will happen at the start of 2018.
“Also, one of the largest providers for the seniors of Muskingum County area for medicare advantage supplements is MediGold. And at this time as of January 1st, Genesis will no longer be accepting MediGold Advantage Plan as an in-network provider.”
Under this new plan, patients with MediGold will have to go to either Cambridge or Columbus for in-network care. This will also affect the cost of prescriptions for those with MediGold. The Senior Center wants to be sure that all seniors know and understand the change and how the change will affect them.
“We have partnered with OSHIIP, Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program….They are willing to come back during this very busy time and host an open forum for seniors to be able to come and attend and find out what their options might be.”
Seniors can call the Senior Center to reserve a spot at the forum on Monday, November 13th.. They can also call the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program with any questions Open enrollment will end December 7th.
