WEATHER FORECAST

Latest Forecast (Zanesville):
Thursday: Mostly sunny. Calm wind, becoming SW 5. High 83
Thursday Night: Mostly clear. Calm wind. Low 60
Friday: Mostly sunny. SW 5-10. High 85
Staying dry through the workweek: Thursday marks the eighth straight day without rain. We can blame a nearly stationary atmospheric pattern called an “Omega Block,” which is keeping a surface high-pressure system in control of our local weather. The rest of the workweek will be dry and mainly sunny under this surface high, with high temperatures in the 80s and comfortable humidity levels.
Our dry pattern concludes this weekend as the surface high moves into the Atlantic. The high will transport a muggy/humid airmass from the Gulf into the region on its backside, and a disturbance will cross through the Great Lakes. This will set the stage for some showers and thunderstorms late Saturday into Sunday. Isolated severe storms and isolated flash flooding appear possible, so make sure you have ways to receive weather alerts. I will continue to monitor all of this, so be sure to check back in for more updates!
Have a great day!
