Pet of the Week: Chatty Cathy

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Today’s pet of the week is sure to bring some enjoyment to your life while living up to her name.

Chatty Cathy is a year old, domestic shorthair kitten. Chatty Cathy is quite the character who loves to be held. In fact, she is quite vocal when she doesn’t get her way. Jody Murray says Cathy will be a great addition to any family looking to add a cat to their home.

“She comes by her name honestly. She is very vocal. So if you’re looking for, not only, a furry friend as a companion, but someone to make some noise around the house she’s the perfect candidate for that.”

Murray says Chatty Cathy is very friendly with people, as well as other cats and dogs. Cathy is up to date on all of her shots and she’s already had her surgeries. Her adoption fee is $60. In honor of Veteran’s Day this month, the public can sponsor a pet in honor of someone they know.

“We have a program here where if you want to do something in honor of a veteran, you can come in and sponsor an animal and we will post this card, put their name showing that you’re doing really a nice gesture and honoring the people who serve and protect our country.”

The shelter is also selling calendars for $15 with all proceeds benefiting the animals they service.
