Ohio University Zanesville to Celebrate 80 Years!

ZANESVILLE, OH – Ohio University Zanesville is getting ready to mark a major milestone with a day full of events.

On Saturday, September 26th, OUZ will celebrate 80 years in the community starting with a Bobcat Brunch for Alumni from 11AM to 1PM, a Campus Open House from 2 to 3PM, and to wrap up the day a Concert on the Campus Greens at 4.

“We’re having a free concert, everyone’s enjoyed the concerts in Downtown Zanesville, we decided to host our own on the Campus Green.” Heather Sands, the Manager of Campus Communications and External Relations with OUZ, said. “Mikenley Brown, she was a finalist on the Voice a few years ago, so she’ll be joining us.”

Sands says this is a good opportunity for current students to network with alumni as well as for prospective students to tour the Campus to see what OUZ has to offer.

There will also be food trucks on hand, but Sands does recommend bringing a chair or blanket so you can sit and enjoy the show.

“I think that’s the important part for a lot of graduates, is having that history and that legacy that’s there.” Sands said. “They can do the 8 decades of Ohio University Zanesville in the put-put course that’s taking place in the Zanesville Campus Library that day, so rain or shine, we’ll be there.”
