Dutro presents check for breast cancer fundraiser

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Breast cancer awareness month may be over, but a local business presented the American Cancer Society with a check from a fundraiser they held for breast cancer.
Dutro car dealership opened a new location Downtown last month and they promised to donate money from each car sold in October to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Amanda Hickerson, Community Development Manager, says the dealership came through on their deal and presented the organization a check.
“We just received an awesome donation from Dutro. $3,875 from car sales throughout October. They helped raise money to fight against breast cancer here in Zanesville. We’re so happy to have partnered with Dutro here in Zanesville to truly make a difference for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk here in October.”
Dutro also helped out with the walk last month passing out water to the walkers; but this fundraiser is more than just a good deed for the company, it’s for a cause that hits close to home. Heather Frey, a Business Manager at Dutro, is no stranger to breast cancer.
“I am personally a breast cancer survivor so it’s extra special to me, but it’s a great cause for the community. It’s very supportive. Something we do each year.”
Dutro says they plan on doing this fundraiser again next year, and the Cancer Society says they have more projects in the works with the company.
