Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Mona Lisa!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s Dog of the Week is as beautiful as a Renaissance painting. Meet Mona Lisa! She’s around 6 years old, keeps a clean kennel, and loves to go on walks. She has a good amount of energy, so make sure you hold that leash tight. Doug McQuaid is a volunteer at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center and tells us more about Mona Lisa.

“Mona Lisa is a very active dog. We found out she’d need to be basically taken for walks a couple of times a day,” McQuaid said. “As you can see, she’s very friendly. She loves affection, keeps a very clean kennel, seems to be dog-friendly, loves to play with balls. If you had an open area or fenced-in yard that she could run around in, she seems to very well enjoy that. So just someone that would be active would be very, very good for her.”

The K-9 Adoption Center is more than just a place to adopt a new dog; it also helps you reconnect with your four-legged friend when they go missing.

“If your dog has come up missing or has gotten loose, don’t hesitate to give us a call or stop by. We’re very full here at the adoption center,” McQuaid said. “We’d always like to make sure that every dog gets reclaimed. Every dog came from a home, it’s very important that they go back to there. That’s what they’re used to having is the home life and the people that is part of their family. So if you would, please, it’s very important. ”
