Halloween Events at MCLS

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The horrors of the Halloween season are almost upon us and the Muskingum County Library System is ready to get the spooky season started. The MCLS has themed activities all October long, starting with this Saturday’s event that you might call a bloody good time.

“So we have “The Horror,” a fake blood workshop and they’re going to be going over quite a few different types of fake blood, including an edible one as well. And all of that is happening in our maker’s space here, The John McIntire Maker’s Space,” said Sean Fennell, the marketing and community relations director for the MCLS. “And while you’re creating all of these and learning about these kind of cool different types of blood that you can create for the holiday season, we’re going to be screening and watching the classic 1922 “Nosferatu” film as well in the maker’s space. ”

Between the John McIntire Library and the other locations throughout Muskingum County, the free activities offered by the MCLS can keep the family busy and give you an excuse to check out your next book.

“We have two other events coming up just this week alone. So I would recommend that you check out our newsletter, which should be coming out any day now. Because it is full of fall crafts and programs and book clubs. So if you want to get into the fall season spirit or the spooky season spirit, this is the place to start,” Fennell said. “I would definitely check out the local library programming because we have so many free programs themed for the holiday.”
