MVHC: Players of the Game – Week Seven

MVHC

ZANESVILLE, OH – What a Friday night it was during week seven of the high school football season. The competition is only just heating up as we hit the stretch run of the regular season, and with every yard, score, and result mattering more than ever before, these three athletes stood out as our latest “MVHC: Players of the Game”.

It has been a breakout season for Sheridan sophomore SJ Shriner, who’s jumped at the opportunity to start at running back for the Generals. With starting senior back Logan Russell out with injury the last several weeks, Shriner has taken the ball and ran with it. In z92’s game between Sheridan and John Glenn, the budding star rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on just 20 carries in the week seven win.

The Tornadoes just keep turning away opponent after opponent, and in week seven, West Muskingum rolled past Crooksville for its fifth straight win. One of the bigger breakout stars in the Muskingum Valley League small school division this season, Dente Tyson had one of his biggest games to date, rushing for nearly 200 yards and two scores in a game which was broadcasted on Z92 radio.

The home of the Blue Devils, AM 1240 held set up shop at Sulsberger Stadium in week seven for a Licking County League Buckeye Division battle between Zanesville and Granville. No battle is ever easy in the LCL, something the Devils found out on Friday night. Despite the tough defeat, Trio Ladd still had a standout game, adding to his phenomenal senior season to this point. On defense, he forced a fumble, had a pass breakup, recorded four tackles (two for loss), and also helped pave the way as a lead blocker for 236 rushing yards on the offensive end.

Congratulations to all three athletes.
