Project Playhouse raised $50,000 for Habitat for Humanity SEO

Project Playhouse

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio held its annual fundraiser where the houses that are built are on a much smaller scale.

Project Playhouse brought sponsors to the Muskingum County Fairgrounds on Friday to build 15 uniquely customized playhouses. These playhouses were given to local children from families in need and the event has raised $50,000 that will fund Habitat for Humanity programs in Muskingum County.

“Muskingum County is really blessed with a lot of kind and generous people and our sponsors have been amazing to, not only sponsor a playhouse, but to show up and share all day with us while they, you know, decorate, paint it, build it. It’s just an incredible feeling to be a part of Muskingum County,” said Melissa Best, the director of community engagement for the Habitat of Humanity SEO.

From Hot Wheels to Spider-Man and from Logo to dream kitchens, each child shared their vision for a playhouse that the sponsors bring to life. Melissa Best is the director of community engagement for Habitat for Humanity SEO and shares her favorite part of the fundraiser.

“So my favorite part of the day is when the kids arrive and they get to see their playhouse for the first time,” Best said. It’s really something special. I think sometimes it’s the first time that child really sees that somebody cares about them and is invested into their life and it’s just really something special to see their reactions. The sponsors enjoy that, we enjoy it, and it’s really the biggest blessing of the day when they get to see their playhouse for the first time.”
