Sandra Starrett

Sandra “Sandy” Starrett, 71, of Blue Rock, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday October 11, 2026, at her home, while the church bells were ringing at 10:00 AM.
She was born on January 25, 1955, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Ralph Leland Stotts and Emma “Isabelle” Stotts. Sandy graduated from Maysville High School in 1972. She was a member of the Gaysport United Methodist Church, where she shared her strong faith for God. She worked at Ohio Ferro Alloy in the office from 1975 into the 80’s. Sandy helped with bookkeeping at her family’s store, Starrett and Son Hardware and was an Avon Consultant for many years. In her free time, Sandy loved flying with her son, being outdoors, and she enjoyed reading. She will always be remembered to be very caring and loving.
Sandy is survived by her son, Samuel Starrett; brothers, Stephen A. (Sherry) Stotts and Nathan E. Stotts; father of her son, Robert Starrett; special friend, Lisa Jenkins and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who supported her and helped her stay at her home during her battle with breast cancer by taking her to appointments and caring for her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Wallace “Wally” R. Stotts; and sister, Darlene Stotts.
Donations can be made to Gaysport United Methodist Church in memory of Sandy.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 4:00 PM with Pastor Joe McFee and Marc Back officiating. A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home following services.
