Field Goals for Good Brings Football and Fundraising to Quaker City

QUAKER CITY, OH – Buckeye fans will have the chance to cheer on their favorite team while giving back to the community this weekend.
Vines on Hillside, a family-owned winery in Quaker City, is hosting its Field Goals for Good charity watch party on Saturday, October 17, as Ohio State takes on Indiana.
The event will bring fans together for a day of football, food, and fundraising, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the United Way and local Rotary charities.
“We’re just thankful for this opportunity to share the winery and vineyard with our community,” Dorothy Martin, one of the owners said. “It’s kind of one of the reasons why we started this, is to have a community gathering place.”
Guests can enjoy food trucks, live music, local vendors, and a chance to spell out “Ohio” like the Ohio State marching band. There will also be a variety of games and competitions, including a field foal challenge and a grape-stomping competition featuring grapes saved from the winery’s recent harvest. Teams will compete to see who can fill their jar with grape juice first.
The friendly competition will continue behind the bar, where approximately 10 local celebrity bartenders will serve drinks while competing to raise the most tips for charity.
WHIZ’s Shylin Costello will be among the celebrity bartenders participating in the fundraiser.
“This is for a great cause, it’s for a great team,” John Martin, co-owner of Vines on Hillside said. “And everybody can come together and rally here. We’d love to have you.”
Field Goals for Good takes place Saturday, October 17, at Wines on Hillside, located at 25600 Hillside Drive in Quaker City. The game kicks off at noon, but guests are welcome to arrive as early at 11 a.m.
