Getting Involved in the Heart Walk

In honor of February being American Heart Month, a local event is hoping to get residents heart healthy.

The Fieldhouse in Zanesville will be holding a Heart Walk February 21st. Co-chair of the walk, Christine Williams, says it encourages participants to be active and healthy.

"I am hoping that getting people involved they will continue throughout the whole year.  That this is just the beginning and not the end," tells Williams.

She says participants will walk the track at the Fieldhouse for around an hour or they can swim and use the treadmills. Last year the event had around 400 participants and Williams is hoping for that crowd again this year. Entry fees are completely donation based, but if you donate $20 or more you will receive a "Heart CD" with recordings from local artists.

"It is a community event and it is for everyone to come and enjoy.  You can register that day, it starts, registration begins at 1:30 and the heart walk begins at 2 p.m.," says Will
