Knights of Columbus donates winter coats to children in need

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- One Catholic fraternal organization is striving to give a special holiday gift, that the children of the Eastside Community Ministries will never forget. Wednesday, the children of the Eastside Community Ministries youth group received new winter coats from Knights of Columbus.
“Today our youth program of 38 children are receiving coats from The Knight of Columbus. They shop for the kids, we give them the sizes and they’re also providing a pizza party, pop and cookies,” said Lynsay Turner, of the Eastside Community Ministries.
Knights of Columbus has partnered with the Eastside Community Ministries for the last 3 years and hopes to continue adding that special gift for their holiday season.
“The Knights of Columbus that annually end up contributing and donating these coats to the kids here at Eastside. There are 38 of them that are being distributed out today and their brand new coats. Hopefully, the kids will enjoy them,” said Robert Laprad of Knights of Columbus.
Each of the children left with big smile and a warm coat. It’s safe to say that Knights of Columbus and The Eastside Community Ministries have succeeded yet another year in collaboration.
