Calvin L. Harmon

Calvin L. Harmon, age 92, of Zanesville, died 5:32 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born Monday, July 20, 1925, in Chandlersville, the son of Bent Harmon and Ada (Archer) Harmon. He was married to Mable (Cox) Harmon who preceded him in death on Monday, May 6, 1991. Calvin was a Baptist by faith and served in the United States Army and retired from Armco Steel following many years of service. He enjoyed playing cards, the lottery and Calvin loved sports. He is survived by two nephews, Rick & Marcie Harmon & Mike Harmon both of zanesville; one niece, Terri (David) Hastings of North Carolina; and great nieces & nephews, Lindsay and Matthew Hastings, Ryan Harmon, Ashley Wilson and Amber Harmon. In addition to his wife & parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lorena Wilford and two brothers, Herbert & Walter Harmon. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Douglas officiating. Burial will conclude in the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery where the US Army, VFW Post #1058 and American Legion Post # 29, will conduct full military honors.
