Christ’s Table will be open Thanksgiving Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Thanksgiving is just two days away and while many will spend the day with family and friends a local food service organization will open its doors to those with nowhere to go.
Christ’s Table will be open on Thanksgiving during its normal hours to serve their usual diners. Christ’s Table Executive Director, Keely Warden says, the crews are already hard at work preparing food for the big day.
“The turkeys have come in. The potatoes have come in. We’re ready to roll. The stuffing is being cooked as we speak,” said Warden. “A lot of people are asking what we still may need and I just checked. There’s always a need for green beans and rolls. We can use those on Thanksgiving Day and we can use those after Thanksgiving too.”
The organization has already received a lot of love and support from the community for the holiday. So much so that Warden said they had to stop accepting volunteers and want to thank those taking dinners to their home bound diners.
“We want to put a big great thank you out there to all of the volunteers that have come forward to help us. We had a good bad problem. We actually had to turn volunteers away because we had so many that wanted to volunteer on Thanksgiving Day. So we thank everyone that’s coming out and that wanted to come out. And a huge thank you the Zanesville Jaycees that give their time on Thanksgiving morning.”
Christ’s Table will open at 10:30 a.m. and serve food until 12:30 p.m.. The public is also welcome to join them for the day.
