Christ’s Table serves Thanksgiving Dinner

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- On this chilly Thanksgiving Day a local organization opened its doors to feed those in need.
Christ’s Table opened at its usual time to provide meals for the community. Volunteers have been preparing for the feast all week and today served those in need with open arms. Many of the volunteers are regulars coming out each year to give back. Tuff Zemba has been volunteering for most of his young life and enjoys helping out.
“You come in. You can help make the food. You can help cut the pie. Stuff like that. And then this year we got to go on homebound meals which is you get to go to different streets and deliver them.”
Many of Christ’s Tables’ regular visitors showed up for the holiday meal. Some of the people have been coming for years. Daniel Ray is one of those people. He says Christ’s Table is his family.
“I’ve been coming here for probably 20 years. This place has helped me out when I was…I was homeless at one time sleeping on the streets and stuff. This is where I would go. They treated me really really really well, just like a family should treat you.”
Christ’s Table also delivered meals to their visitors that weren’t able to make it out. They say they wanted to be sure everyone had a warm meal today.
