Jane Windisch Everett
Jane Windisch Everett, 87, of Zanesville, passed away Thursday, November 30, at Clay Gardens Place, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 23, 1930, in Cleveland, and was the daughter of the late Russell and Helen Cooke Windisch. She attended Athens High School and graduated from Ohio University. Jane was a well-known Red Cross swim instructor for many years, teaching at Lake Isabella and Northside Beach. She co-founded and coached the Y-Kipper Synchronized Swimming Team, and was a judge for the Zanesville Piranha Swim Team. While in college she modeled, and worked as a camp counselor at Camp Allengheny. Jane and her husband, Jim, ran a successful auctioneering business for many years, and she also assisted him in his cattle business and trailer sales. She was also a very talented artist and pianist, and enjoyed horses, tennis, swimming and biking, and took flying lessons as a great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, and mother and father in law, Hal and Vera Everett, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Melvin Everett, who passed away May 28, 2010, and whom she married on February 16, 1950. Jane is survived by her children, Troy (Sheila) Everett of Frazeysburg, Molly (David) Allen of Zanesville, Amy (Tim) Kennedy of Nashport, Hal (Karen) Everett of Columbus, Jenny (Andrew) Schultz of Atlanta, Abby (Wayne) Tignor of Hopewell, Megan (Stellan) Skarsgard of Stockholm, Sweden; grandchildren, Terry, Danny and Wendy Everett, Aimee (Jeff) Meals, Cara (Jason) McMannis, Tess (Chris) Muhlberg, Emma Kennedy, Emily (Daniel) Shenk, Brian Everett, Ben, Zach and Liddy Schultz, Joel (Regina) and Brad (Lea Ann) Tignor, Ossian and Kol Skarsgard; great-grandchildren, Elliott, Draven, Sasha, Phillip, JC, Joseph, Vera, Cooper, Copen, Baylie and Jett, and her beloved dog, Gabe.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her Clay Gardens Place family and caregivers and to Hospice of Central Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 3, 2017 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Daniel Fullen officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery.
