Christ’s Table serves New Year’s Meals

Zanesville, Ohio- One local organization spent this New Year’s day helping those in need.
Christ’s Table opened its doors to make sure those who are less fortunate in the community had a hot meal on the holiday.
“Its our New Year’s celebration, you probably smelled the kraut when you walked in the door. We want everyone to have good luck and prosperity this year, so we always cook cabbage and our hot dogs and baked beans. We’re just welcoming everyone in today, wishing them a Happy New Year and trying to get them to warm up since its so cold outside and just making everybody feel good today,” said Keely Warden, Executive Director of Christ’s Table.
Being a part of an organization that serves hundreds of people a day, Warden says that interacting with the people and displaying love is what she looks forward to the most.
“I think your favorite part of the day is greeting people at the door with a hot cup of coffee today, just giving them a real hug and letting them know that we’re here all year and that were here to help them through their problems. Not only just to feed them but to let them know that someone is there to love them. Today we had warm hats and warm gloves and lots of hand warmers, thanks to the community for coming through with that. ”
Warden says they are still in need of more winter weather gear and if you would like to donate you can drop them off at Christ’s Table.
