Philo Lock Guide Wall Collapses
There is a problem tonight at the Philo Lock on the Muskingum River.
Ohio Department of Natural Resources Public Information Coordinator Jason Fallon says the State is aware of the situation and has been in contact with local officials.
The part that collapsed is a guide wall that stands around 25 feet tall and it does not appear there are any structural problems with the lock wall and bridge.
Fallon says O-D-N-R has been in contact with Muskingum County Engineer Doug Davis about the issue and a decision on a repair for the problem will be made soon.
The 10 Locks on the Muskingum River are not operational in the winter months.
