Zanesville residents venture out despite level 2 snow emergency

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- For many, a level 2 snow emergency means remaining indoors and staying off the roads.
Saturday we spoke to Zanesville residents who decided to tackle the roads despite the treacherous snowy conditions.
“We had plans already with my family and we just wanted to come out and get pizza. I think we have to go to Walmart and get a few things but other than that we’re just going back home. My dad went out and dug my car out and then it was crazy watching him trying to drive out, but it was kind of funny at the same time. There was snow everywhere, like inches and inches of snow,” said Zanesville Resident Lexy Wells.
Although the roads have been blanked in snow, these conditions aren’t stopping soon to be 9 year old Cutler Carnes from celebrating his special day!
“Basically we came out today just to look at some shoes, kill some time, be out in the snow and have a little fun seeing how bad the roads were. Today is Cutler’s birthday party so I knew there wouldn’t be much foot traffic in here so it’d be good just to look around and not be pressured by anyone too much. We’re going to do my son’s birthday party so we’re looking to pick up some shoes for him and see if he likes anything today,” said Father, Derek Carnes.
If you do have to go out this weekend, be sure you’re bundled up and drive with caution.
