Senator Troy Balderson talks campaign for Congress
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Senator Troy Balderson took a quick break from the campaign trail to attend the MLK Prayer Breakfast this morning.
Early last month Senator Balderson announced his bid for Congress for Ohio’s 12th District. Balderson said the campaign is off to a good start and that he now as a campaign manager. As for whether or not he will continue in his role as Senator as he campaigns, he said he remains dedicated to Muskingum County and its residents.
As far as me staying on board as far as serving as a current Senator: absolutely. I am still working the 20th senate district hard dealing with issues that are going on here locally and throughout the district. You know, time management is crucial and I am capable of doing that. This time in my life is the opportunity for me to do both things.”
Balderson has stayed busy with his Senator duties attending house sessions. He said there are some issues coming up in the state house that will affect the county that he’s keeping an eye on.
“Right now what we have coming up in the state house, and we started back last week and we’ll continue next week with session. We have a capital budget that we are going to start working on. What that means here locally is there are several projects that have been placed to try to move forward. So we’ll be working on those issues. And we’re very hopeful that the projects here in Muskingum County will be successful of getting in the capital budget.”
Balderson said he can’t disclose what the projects are yet, but the hope is to have a final decision on them by May.
