Zanesville District Golf Association gears up for annual Golf Show
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Golf enthusiasts are waiting for the weather to warm up so they can hit the course, but a big golf show will help tie them over in the meantime.
The Zanesville District Golf Association will be hosting their annual Golf Show. The show will feature door prizes, ball fitting and club fitting, and a silent auction. Mike Durant, the Head Golf Professional at the Zanesville Country Club said attendees will also get a first hand look at new must have equipment.
“We have five major manufacturers show up. We have Titelist, Ping, Callaway, Wilson and Mizuno. They’ll show up with all of their equipment so everyone in town can try the new 2018 golf equipment from those manufacturers,” said Durant.
The show isn’t just about the equipment and the game. Durant says the show serves as a way to raise money to fund scholarships for high school golfers who participate in the junior golfing tournament. Each year the club gives scholarships to the top three winners in both the girls and boys divisions. The club also honors local high school senior golf players.
“We’re going to recognize our local area seniors who played on their high school golf team this past season. And each one of those kids who can attend will have their own booth and will have their name,” said Durant. “We’ll recognize each and every one of them because we want..the ZDGA feels it’s so important part of our program is to promote junior golf and youth golf. And we’re so grateful for those kids that play on their school teams.”
The golf show will take place February 3rd at Eaglesticks Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Zanesville Country Club or from any board member. Anyone under 18 is free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
