The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office say a man was sentenced Monday in connection with a home invasion.  31-year-old Mason Somers went before Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle and received 25 years in prison.  He was found guilty last week during a jury trial in connection with a home invasion in August of 2017.

Mason Somers was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping and Felonious Assault.

Authorities say the incident happened on Rehl Road where a masked gunman robbed and assaulted the victim in his home.

The Prosecutor’s Office says the investigation, led by Detective Brad Shawger of the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office discovered Somers’ DNA on a flashlight dropped  by the gunman at the scene, ultimately leading to his conviction for the crimes.
