Helen Grace Summers 1923 – 2018

Helen Grace Summers, 94 of Naples, Fl., formerly of Zanesville, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in great spirits on January 23, 2018 at Naples Community Hospital.
Born September 21, 1923 in Cambridge, Oh. to the late Ellis & Dorothy Abraham, she was married to Harry Camden Summers who passed away June 23, 2002. Helen led the active, vibrant life she loved so dearly up until the very day she left us, exercising, playing golf, always volunteering to help others, and being dedicated to her faith and church. She was a devoted friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as family and friendship was everything to her. Also as an avid fan of many sports, she was always cheering on her favorite teams, especially her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. After attending Bethesda Nursing School she was employed by Dr. Bobby D. Young for twenty-five years.
Helen is survived by her four children Tami (Carroll) Swope of Zanesville, R. Scott (JoAnne) Summers of Boulder, CO, Kim (Tom) Forrestal of Naples, and Casey (Sue) Summers of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Chris Roessler, Summer Swope McGovern, Erin Summers, Jamie Summers, Monica Forrestal Palmer, and Casey Belknap Summers; a sister, Betty O’Donnell; a brother, Fred Abraham; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Abraham and a grandchild, Kim Anne Roessler.
No funeral home services will be observed as per her request. A celebration of life service will be held in Naples, FL on February 18th, another in Zanesville at an undetermined date, as well as a private family graveside service at Zanesville Memorial Park.
