2018 Princess Blessings prom dress give away

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- One organization is using their efforts to give back to teen girls in a big way.

Saturday the Salvation Army hosted the annual Princess Blessings prom dress give away, where girls in need receive new and gently used prom dresses.

“Volunteering is an important part of our community. I feel that it gets you involved, you’re seeing what’s going on and helping is the biggest key here for girls in need. Always supporting them and making them feel special and empowered,” said volunteer, Trisha Shesky.

Just halfway through the day, about 50 high school girls received dresses. Founder, Becky Clawson spoke about the importance of this special day.

“So far we’re about halfway through the day, we’ve had a great turn out. Tons of girls have come in. I’d say probably about 50 girls so far have come in and left with dresses and accessories. We’ve been able to help girls from several different school districts, four that I know of. I’ve had a couple of girls in tears. it’s just such a special day to make them feel special,” said Clawson.

As the event is held every year, they are always in need of donated dresses. To donate visit the Princess Blessings Facebook page
