The Zanesville Community Theater puts on ‘Evita’

ZANESVILLE, Ohio– One local theater showcased a musical that is rather new to the city of Zanesville.
Sunday the Zanesville Community Theater put on “Evita,” a musical production that stems all the way back to Argentina.
“Evita is a story of the life of and death of Evita’s transition through her youth into her rise as a powerful figure. Kind of the beloved matriarch of the people of Argentina. It’s a nice drama, lots of music, a lot of emotion and incredible actors, I’m totally biased,” said Director, Michelle Robison.
Stage Manager, Sarah Gantzer says this specific production is unlike any other play they’ve put on thus far.
“The biggest difference with this show for me is the orchestra. It’s really challenging music because it isn’t traditional music. The tempos change all the time and it’s just really complicated music so we needed really awesome musicians to help us tell the story. So we’ve been really blessed to have that. We have a fantastic duo of musical directors,” said Gantzer.
