Spring break vacations
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- With spring break right around the corner, many families are looking to take a spring vacation.
There are plenty of places to travel to whether it’s across the state or around the world. AAA spokesperson Kimberly Schwind said most people are going south for their spring break vacation. Despite these warm next few days, she said people are ready to get away from this long cold winter.
“We always see a lot of people going down to Florida. Florida’s great because a lot of destinations are actually drivable. 13, 16 hours if you want to go along the Gulf Coast. So the beaches along the Gulf Coast in Florida, very popular. A lot of people go to Orlando. There’s lot’s to do and see in Orlando. Great Family destinations, Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World Resorts, lots of other theme parks as well,” said Schwind.
Schwind said January and February are the busiest months of the year for booking vacations and Florida isn’t the only place people are going. Vacations also include the Carolina’s, Cancun, and even Hawaii.
“Of course, much bigger more expensive trip. (You) have to save up a little more if you want to go to Hawaii. We are seeing it make more of a comeback, so a lot more people going to Hawaii. All-inclusive resorts are great value so we see a lot of people going to all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, in Mexico so especially along the Cancun area. There are some great all inclusive resorts,” said Schwind.
Schwind said if you haven’t planned a spring vacation yet, it’s not too late to book one.
