ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The movie Dodgeball has the 5 D’s. They are dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge. Well, the third annual dodgeball tournament has now added a 6th D… Donatation.

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties and the Muskingum Recreation Center held the third annual dodgeball tournament. Dodgeball participant and Dollar General Distribution Center supervisor Chris Lemley said his team raised the most money with over $900. He said its great as a company to give back to the area.

“We do a lot of things for the community, this is just one of those things. We did a sale at work so all the employees at work contributed and helped us get the amount we contributed,” said Lemley.

An all-time high 22 teams came out to partake in friendly but, competitive games of dodgeball at the Muskingum Rec Center. Katie McNeil, the Resource Development Director, said the united way is extremely excited and overwhelmed by all the support the local community and businesses have given.

All the proceeds tonight go to benefit local community programs from The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties. “We do have some very large supporters this evening,” said McNeil.

The United Way raised over $2,300 from this year’s event. McNeil said she is certain there will be another dodgeball tournament next year and she hopes it will be even bigger.
