Update: Truck crashes into a home on Jersey Ridge Road

ZANESVSILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Sheriff’s office is continuing an ongoing investigation after a driver crashed into a home that nearly left a family speechless.

Early Saturday morning, Cheryl Drumheller and her family were awaken from their sleep only to find a truck had crashed into their bedroom.

“It was about one thirty in the morning. We had been in bed for a couple of hours and we heard what sounded like “boom” or a bomb or something going off. Me and my husband both woke up and our room was completely white filled with the dust from the wall,” said Drumheller.

Between glass, pieces of the vehicle and the particles of debris, Drumheller says the impact of the crash left both she and her husband trapped inside their bedroom. 

“Well we were trying to get out of our room and from the impact that the vehicle did on the front it collapsed one wall and my sons, one come running from upstairs and one from downstairs trying to get to us and we couldn’t open our door. My husband was pulling from one side, they were pushing from the other side to break the door and get us out because we couldn’t breathe,” said Drumheller.
