Local hair salon teams up with Eastside Community for a food drive

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local hair salon is teaming up with Eastside Community Ministry to offer a special deal to its clients to help out the community.

The Famous Hair locations on Maple and Maysville Pike are holding a food drive for the month of March. The store managers worked together to organize the event. Stephanie Knowlton said the drive is the brainchild of Rachel Ball the manager of the South Zanesville location.

“We are doing a canned food drive which also you can do non-perishable boxed items as well. Drop offs can be done here at the South Zanesville Famous Hair and also on Maple at the Famous Hair there. If items cannot be dropped off in the salon they can also be dropped off at Eastside Community where they have coupons that you can get to bring in to the shop at your convenience,” said Knowlton.

Anyone that makes a donation to the drive will be given a coupon that can be used towards a service at either location.

“For every donation that you bring in you get 10 percent off of a service. So if you get a haircut and a you’re getting a color you can bring in two items and get 10 percent off of each one,” said Rachel Ball.

The food drive will start tomorrow and will go through March 31st. Donations can be dropped at either Famous Hair at 2850 Maysville Pike or 3527 Maple or directly to Eastside Community.
