Myers reaches 1K points as Zanesville rolls past East Liverpool

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Blue Devils opened their post-season run with a one-sided 65-28 victory over East Liverpool on Saturday night.

Zanesville hasn’t played since their February 23rd win over New Philadelphia on Senior Night, and they put their eight-day break to good use. The Blue Devils looked well rested en route to opening up a 29-6 lead on the Potters after the first half.

East Liverpool’s halftime adjustments on the offensive end helped them more than doubled their point-production in the third quarter, scoring 15 points. However they failed to significantly cut into the Blue Devils lead, trailing by 20 going into the final quarter.

Even with the game in hand in the fourth, one moment ignited the crowd. Aronde Myers hit a three-pointer with just minutes to play helping him eclipse 1,000 career points in a Blue Devils uniform. He finished with 17 points on the night.

Cameron Brooks-Harris lead all scorers with 23 points, while Cobe Curry chipped in 10 as well.

Zanesville will now take on the winner between St. Clairsville and Indian Creek on March 7th at 7 p.m. The location of the game has yet to be determined.
