ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum Youth Performing Arts held one of their biggest fundraisers of the year today bringing out princesses from lands near and far.

Cinderella, Anna, Belle, oh my! It’s the party fit for only the finest and it’s right here at Colony Square Mall. All of the princesses from all of the lands took time away from their royal duties to help the Muskingum Youth Performing Arts.

“I just love being Cinderella. So for me dressing up and just being nice and making people smile it’s my kind of thing,” said Anna Richcreek who took on the role of Cinderella for the party. “But also, I am here to volunteer for the Princess Party which contributes to the Nutcracker which is in November every year and I also participate in that.”

The Performing Arts Director said the money raised from the party will be used to help offset costs for their annual production.

“Last year we used the money to get a professional dance floor for the girls doing pointe work to keep them from like slipping,” said Whitney Lewis. “And to give them, like, the right traction so they get, like, a professional floor. This year we’re planning to put it toward some new set design and update some of our costumes.”

Princesses like Mulan, Tiana, Sleeping Beauty, and Moana shared their talents singing and dancing with the young princesses.

“They get to learn some basic ballet steps. They can wear fairy wings and learn a dance and they get to dance around with scarves too. And learn what it’s like to take a ballet class,” said Lewis.

The princesses also partook in a tea party, decorated crowns and wands, got their faces and nails painted, and took lots of pictures.

“Honestly, just thinking back to when I was this excited, I just love making them so happy. It just warms my heart because I remember when I was always excited, get kind of shy,” said Richcreek. “You know, I want to be as supportive to them as I wanted them for me.”
