South Zanesville Goodwill in need of donations

SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Springtime brings along spring cleaning and one organization is asking to be kept in mind for donations.

The Goodwill retail store in South Zanesville is low on product to fill their racks. Store Manager Connie Kimble said there are many items that people tend to get rid of that could easily be sold in her store.

“Right now this time of the year our donations are typically a little bit lower due to the winter months and everything,” said Kimble. “So right now our store needs some clothing, it needs some household items, and of course shoes, purses.”

Kimble said any donation should be in a safe, good condition. The donations given to Goodwill are sold in their retail stores with the profits helping to support its mission.

“Goodwill’s mission is to provide work opportunities, skills, development, and employment services to people with barriers to employment,” said Kimble. “And basically a barrier can be just about anything. So with the donations and the support of the community it helps us to raise the revenue that we need to make sure that these people stay at work.”

Donations are accepted during store hours. Donors will be given a receipt that can be used for tax write offs.
