
Rev. Sandra S. Rockwell, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, died Sat. March 31, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital at the age of 77. She was born on March 26, 1941 in Alma, West Virginia. She was married on April 18, 1959 in Winchester, Virginia to Arthur A. Rockwell. She was a minister and a member of the Northside Nazarene Church.
She graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene College with a degree in ministry in May of 1985 and was ordained to the ministry on July 15, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio. She began her ministry in 1974 at the Fultonham Methodist Church where she had her Layman’s license. She received her local minister’s license and became Associate Pastor of two churches, South Zanesville Church of the Nazarene and later Northside Nazarene Church. She became pastor at the Church of Christ in Christian Union in November of 1995. She volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital as a chaplain for two years. She retired from the Zanesville Board of Education in August of 1998.
She is survived by her children Patty Hertenstein, John Rockwell, JoAnn (Mike) Doyle, Stephanie (Justin) Medley, Marty (Katie) Schneider, and Jennifer (Chuck) Lombardy. 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. One brother Robert Crawmer. One brother and sister-in-law Richard and Judy Rockwell. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Rockwell. Her parents Kenneth and Mabel (Seckman) Crawmer. One son-in-law John Hertenstein.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wed. April 4, 2018 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thur.
