Volunteers needed to test drive a car for a cause

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Dutro Ford and the United Way of Muksingum, Perry, and Morgan counties are offering a test you won’t want to pass up and it’s all for a good cause.

Volunteers will be able to test drive a car on Dutro’s lot for the United Way’s “Drive 4 UR Community” event. Drivers will cruise through Downtown for 15 to 20 minutes before completing a survey that will be used to keep track of donations.

“Oh it’s fun! You can have the sporty Mustang or the SUV like I usually drive; but they have a lot to choose from,” said Diane Jones the United Way of MPM Board President. “And for the most part I think you get to choose the vehicle that you would like to be in.”

At the end of the event Dutro will donate $20 for each volunteer that test drives one of their cars. The money will help support the many programs provided by the United Way.

“As you know there are many needs in our community and the United Way mission is around actually what we call three pillars: education, health care, and financial stability,” said Jones. “So we’re always very aggressively working and gauging the community volunteers and community partners to find ways that provides the funds to support our partner agencies.”
