New gallery opens at library for Art Walk

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s the beginning of the month meaning there are new artists featured for First Fridays Art Walk.
As the name suggests, First Fridays Art Walk takes place on the first Friday of each month. This month three artists are being featured and will open their show this week.
“Our gallery show is called ‘The B Side’. And there’s 3 of us that are showing. It’s Jana Pryor and Rob Cook,” said Julie Keirle one of the featured artists. “And we have assembled quite a collection of work that represents what it means to us, “The B Side’.”
Keirle said there’s two sides to every story and that’s what the show represents. All three of the artist contributed pieces using multiple mediums. Both Keirle and Pryor are photographers that incorporated pictures into their work. And Cook sculpts with wood pieces to create contemporary art.
“We inspire one another to create and so that’s why I asked Jana and Rob to be in the show with me,” said Keirle.
The show opens Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Carnegie wing of the John McIntire Library and will close at 6:00 p.m. It is open to the public. The show will run the entire month of May and is open during library hours. Keirle said some of the pieces of work will be for sale for anyone interested in purchasing.
