Muskingum County Board of Elections ready for May Primary Election

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Election day is May 8th and the Muskingum County Board of Elections is prepared for the May elections.

The polls will be open from 6:30 in the morning until 7:30 in the evening. Board of Elections Director, Tim Thompson, said there are several state issues on this ballot.

“There’s the governor’s race, there are other state races that are on the ballot. There are the 12th district candidates. In the 12th district you have candidates running for the unexpired term which ends in January and then you also have candidates that are running for the full term which starts in January,” said Thompson.

Thompson said preparations for elections for him and his staff, have been going well and on schedule.

“We’ve got all of our materials delivered before Election Day and we’ll pick them all up on Tuesday night or Wednesday and bring them back to us,” said Thompson.

The election results will be broadcasted on WHIZ-TV and posted online.
