Kenzie Newsom commits to ODU to play soccer, basketball

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Kenzie Newsom signed her Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career at Ohio Dominican, playing both soccer and basketball for the Panthers.
Newsom had a outstanding soccer career with the Blue Devils in which she tallied 322 saves and set school records with 39 career clean sheets and just 44 goals against. Kenzie was a part of three ECOL Championship teams in 2014, 2016, and 2017. The also contributed to a Sectional Championship in 2014 and District Runner-Up in 2017. During her senior season, Kenzie also had a stretch of over 400 minutes without conceding a goal.
During her career at Zanesville, Kenzie received a Scholar Athlete Certificate, she was a four-year Varsity letter winner, ECOL First team, ECOL Player of the Year, Eastern District First Team, Eastern District D-II Girls Player of the Year, and First Team All-Ohio.
On the hardwood her senior season, Newsom averaged 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4.5 steals per game.
