Sheridan softball rallies to win opening tournament game

THORNVILLE, Ohio – Last season the Sheridan softball team made it to the district title game. This season they are hoping to go a little further.

They survived their first test of the tournament, despite giving up a three run lead. The top seeded Lady Generals jumped out to a 3-0 advantage over Logan Elm. However, the Braves fought back to tie the game at four and force extra innings.

Logan Elm scored first in the eighth putting all the pressure on the Generals in the bottom half of the inning. The pressure wasn’t too great for Melanie Clum who hit a two-run double to give Sheridan the walkoff win by a final of 6-5.

The Genearls move on to districts where they’ll face Gallia Academy Monday at Ohio University.
