Ceramics claim Sectional title over Wellston

CROOKSVILLE, Ohio — Trey White lead the Ceramics to the Sectional Championship on Saturday afternoon with an 8-0 win over Wellston.

The Crooksville senior was a standout with his arm and his bat on Saturday, throwing a complete game two-hitter with 9 strikeouts. He also helped his own cause at the dish driving in four runs.

After already going up 1-0 in the third, White singled to right to make it 2-0 Crooksville. White would then help double that lead in the 5th with a two-out, two-run double.

White was rolling along but the Ceramics bats got him some added insurance by scoring four runs in the 6th to complete the 8-0 scoreline.

Nick Headley also had a triple, a single, and two RBI for Crooksville, while Landon Hinkle had a pair of hits himself with three runs scored.

The Ceramics now advance to play top-seeded Minford on on Thursday, May 17th at 5 p.m. at Chillicothe Paints Stadium. Minford defeated Huntington Saturday afternoon 9-0.
