Anti-bullying rally at Zane’s Landing Park

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A Zanesville woman is working to raise awareness for bullying.
Frieda Hardy is holding a Muskingum County Anti-bullying Rally next month to get the conversation about bullying going in the area. Hardy said she was inspired to put the rally together after hearing about local teens that took their lives because of being bullied.
“The day that Coby took his own life due to bullying I couldn’t stop crying,” said Hardy. “I do not know any of the children that has taken their lives. I didn’t even know their families. It just for some reason hit me and something said ‘You’ve gotta choice. Cry or do something.’”
Hardy chose to do something. She got to work planning the free community event. She hopes it will give families an opportunity to learn more information.
“What it is, is to show the youth that we’re listening. That we support them and we’re here to help them. And I’m bringing in all the different groups and organizations, the new and the old, to work together because you have to work together in order to solve any major issue,” said Hardy.
The organizations will be providing resources and information to families. The rally will take place June 2nd from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Zane’s Landing Park. There will be a small bike giveaway, a DJ, games, and A2J Crew dance company will be performing.
