Campolo’s one-hitter send Sheridan to district title game

ATHENS, Ohio – The Sheridan Lady Generals dominated from start to finish in their district semi-final matchup with Gallia Academy Monday afternoon at Ohio University.

Sophomore pitcher Sydney Campolo threw a complete game (five innings), gave up just one hit, and struck out nine batters as the Generals took down Gallia 12-0. Sheridan moves on to the district championship game where they will face third seeded Fairfield Union in Athens.

The Generals jumped out to a very early lead, scoring eight runs in their first trip to the plate. Melanie Clum hammered a two run homer for Sheridan.

Thursday’s district championship game will start at 5 p.m.
