COSHOCTON, Ohio – In a game that could only be described as a pitcher’s duel, the John Glenn Little Muskie baseball team eked out a 1-0 extra inning win over Indian Valley Wednesday afternoon to take the district title.

John Glenn got a tremendous outing from starting pitcher Alex Kridelbaugh. The lefty struck out seven and only gave up four hits in eight innings of work. Unfortunately for John Glenn, the Indian Valley pitching staff was just as dominate and after the regulation seven innings, neither team had pushed across a run.

Then in the ninth inning John Glenn made their move. Kolton Neptune hit a double to center field. Then with two outs Chase Karling hit a blooper in shallow right field that scored Neptune for the game’s first and only run.

In the bottom of the ninth Gavin Thompson came in to pitch for JG and got a 1-6-3 double play to give the Little Muskies the district title, their first since 1981.

John Glenn moves on to the regional semi-final where they will meet Steubenville next Thursday in Athens.
