ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s almost summer vacation and a local YMCA has a place for kids to spend their time out of the classroom.

The Muskingum Family YMCA will be hosting their annual summer day camp. The camp is for anyone in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Executive Director Jeff Radde said it’s a great way for kids to have fun outside over the summer.

“The YMCA provides a safe environment and fun environment for the kids. We have many activities with the children. We do reading programs, walking fitness programs, free swim lessons for our kids who are enrolled in day camp. There are so many activities that the kids do on a weekly bases and they have a great time and a safe time,” said Radde.

The outdoor pool at the YMCA will also open up on June 2nd. Radde said after 20 years of being part of the day camp, he still loves the joy kids have as they jump into the pool for the first time.

“Just watching them enjoy memories and have fun. Meet new kids and experience a lot. That’s what I enjoy, cramming in so many activities for these kids to do. These kids are tired after camp. It’s a safe environment and they have a lot of fun and it just builds memories,” said Radde.
