John Glenn cleans up at district track meet

BYESVILLE, Ohio – The John Glenn track and field team had about as good of a day as you can have at the East District meet on Saturday.
The Lady Little Muskies took team title with 105 points. Senior Karlie Zumbro led the way, winning both hurdle events, the long jump, and qualified for the 100 meter dash. Her team mate Abby Walker also won the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.96.
The John Glenn boys team came in third out of 14 schools who competed. Joseph Clifford won the 300 hurdles for JG and was runner up in the 110 hurdles. He followed that up by winning the high jump.
Several other area athletes had solid days as well. Maysville’s Taylor William took the girls 3200 with a time of 12:30.10. Her Panther team was runner up in the team rankings with 87.5 points.
Cambridge’s Ben Ogle won the boys 800 and Jay Tyler McConkey took the 1600. Both of them also ran on the Bobcat’s 4×800 relay team that took first place.
In field events Cade Mollahan of Morgan won boys pole vault. Carson Stottsberry of Philo took the boys long jump. Maysville’s Braden Brock was the boys discus champ. Lilly Ritz of Cambridge won the girls high jump. And Jacelyn Wigal of Philo dominated the throwing events, winning the girls shot put and finishing second in discus.
