Troiano Guilty in Death

Anthony Troiano admits guilt Monday in an accident that took the life of a Zanesville man.

The 22-year-old from Columbus pled guilty to a third-degree-felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide and two fourth-degree-felony charges of vehicular assault.

On April 20, 2009 Troiano went left-of-center on State Route 60 south near Durant Road and struck a car driven by 68-year-old Charles Peyatt. Peyatt was killed and two passengers in his car were injured.

Prosecutor Mike Haddox said with the plea Troiano admits he operated the vehicle recklessly. Haddox said they are recommending he serve four years in prison.

Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set Troiano’s bond at $100,000.
