Philo Jr. High Student Charged In Fight
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says a Philo Jr. High School student was seriously injured in a fight at school and now charges have been filed.
The Sheriff says it happened between a 7th grade student and an 8th grade student and resulted in a broken leg and facial injuries.
Lutz, who is not releasing the names of the juveniles, says the 8th grader made a derogatory remark about the 7th grade student and the next day the fight happened.
Sheriff Lutz says the 7th grade student broke the 8th grade student’s leg and caused injury to his face.
Lutz says the 7th grader is facing a felonious assault charge.
Philo Jr. High School Principal Tony Sines says he followed the school handbook and district policy when it comes to the discipline of the two students involved in the fight.
